Welcome to all visitors of this site, future festival audience, filmmakers and artists!

We are pleased to announce the fifth edition of DOKU.ARTS, which will take place from 9-13 June 2010 at EYE Film Institute Netherlands (formerly Filmmuseum Amsterdam) and SMART Project Space.

This year the focus lies on the visual arts, the relationship between museums and cinema and a special program with documentaries and films by Iranian filmmakers.

The festival opens with the screening of Women Without Men by Shirin Neshat, winner of the Silver Lion award at the Venice Film Festival last year. Shirin Neshat, co-director Shoja Azari and art director Azari Shahram Karimi will be present.

Furthermore we are very glad to announce our collaboration with the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Through this collaboration we hope to broaden and connect diverse audiences and combine our competence in the fields of visual arts and cinema. Together with the Stedelijk Museum and DOKU.ARTS, the Mediafonds organizes a seminar, “Artcasting”, concerning art museums as producers of the moving image.

The program consists of 25 films, including 18 Dutch premieres, from 12 countries: Belgium, Spain, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, USA, Iran, Canada, UK, Sweden, Switzerland and France.
