Sebastián Moreno
The filmmaker Sebastián Moreno was born in 1972 in Santiago de Chile. After studying Communication Sciences at the School of Arts and Communication ARCOS in Santiago, he went to Cuba to study camerography at the School of Film and Television EICTV.
Back in Santiago de Chile, he studied anthropology until 1998, worked as production assistant for the renowned Chilean movie director Silvio Caiozzi, and as a camerographer.
With his own production company, Las Películas del Pez, he produced documentaries such as “En defensa propia” and made the feature documentary, “The City of Photographers” (2006), that was screened successfully at many festivals internationally and has won several awards (Best Documentary – African, Asian and Latin American Film Festival of Milan 2007; Special Mention of the Jury – Festival de Guadalajara, Mexico, “First Appearance Award” for Best Newcomer Documentary at IDFA/ Amsterdam 2006).
