Shirley Horrocks

Shirley Horrocks was born in Auckland, New Zealand. For 25 years, she has run her own production company, Point of View Productions. As both director and producer, Shirley Horrocks has taken a particular interest in making documentaries about the arts, including performing and visual arts, literature and poetry, focusing specifically on New Zealand artists. Her films, many of them feature length documentaries, have been broadcast internationally and have received important nominations and won several prizes, among them the Premier Prize at New Zealand Media Peace Awards (1993), nomination in competition for the 15th Festival International for Film sur l´Art in Montréal.

“Marti: The Passionate Eye” won best documentary at the Jewish Eye – World Jewish Film Festival in Israel in 2006.
